Bestuurder Nr. 8: John Garvey
Recently retired Airline Captain worked for Aer Lingus – Irish Airlines for many years and then flew a Boeing 747 Cargo version for Nippon Cargo Airlines of Japan for the last 15 years.
Born in Cork, Ireland but has lived since a young age in Dublin. Married with two grown up children.
John has always had a keen interest in motors and motorsport. He competed in navigation rallies in a Mk I Ford Escort and has owned and raced a variety of Classic English sports cars. MGB, TVR and Austin Healey 3000 amongst them. He is more recently a Porsche fan keeping a 996 in Dublin and an older 911 Carrera in Tenerife.
Tenerife was where he met Corstiaan and observed the lengthy preperation of “La Reina Negra” in his own garage. He is now looking forward to the Rallye as a co-driver with some excitement.
