TECHNICAL PREPARATION OF THE RALLY

Fuel Pump:
The original pump has been repaired.
It΄s funny to see the fuel going through a glass bowl,
especially with a fuel price of 0,70 cents a liter (price of fuel in January in Tenerife)

New Dynamo
|
Dynamo:
The installation of a 80 AH / 12 voltage dynamo instead of the original 6 voltage dynamo.
The original dynamo will be kept. Advantages:
- quicker start
- better cooling
- better lighting
- installation of TOM TOM / CD
- brakelights more visible
- battery cables for assistance
Old Dynamo

Engine Starter:
We had to replace the 6 voltage parts with 12 voltage parts
|

Exhaust:
Front exhaust was still in a good condition.
Back exhaust was rotten and has been replaced
by stainless steel

Old Manifold |
Manifold:
Built in January 1951 with the production code 456 912 D.
The manifold has been repaired twice but this time I needed to replace it for a new one.
The fittings to install the manifold have been improved by enlarging the studs from 7mm to 8mm.
