TECHNICAL PREPARATION OF THE RALLY

All the participants with their vintage cars must meet the requirements
of the technical inspection. The safety of the driver and the passengers
must be guaranteed.
For the sponsors it´s important to know that “La Reina Negra” will be
in a top-condition. In 2005 , I registered myself and the car as possible participants
with the organisation CAAR.NL
Since 2006 , spare parts have been imported from Belgium and Holland
to Tenerife. Sometimes I had difficulties bringing them over. Like the
exhaust manifold. The security people at the airport considered this spare part
as a possible murder weapon (…..)

The originality of an oldtimer is endangered if technical perfection is aimed at.
Technical preparation aims also to eliminate the possibility of small
failures in the search for reliability.
I am always looking for improvements. Below are listed items that
have been improved or changed :

Tires:
Five new original tires (Michelin 185/400).
Maybe you don't believe it, but this classic car has been driven 25
years on Michelin Mercedes cartruck tires !
Excellent quality but certainly not original and comfortable !

Wheels:
The wheels received a anti –oxigen treatment at the firm
Julio Crespo in Arafo (Tenerife)
The wheels have been sprayed with a colour of the fifties.
The excellent paintwork was done by Renault Garcia in
San Isidro – Granadilla (Tenerife)

Radiator:
The original radiator had a production number 450 and was produced in January 1951.
After 57 years of service it has been replaced by a new one.
