The mysterious TGV

THE MYSTERY OF THE FAST 15 SIX (LA TGV)

Georges Regembeau was a manufacture of fast diesel-engines. One day he decided to study the big “15” and this was his statement : …….One day , I decided to change the mechanic of the big “15”. I was impressed about the roadholding but disappointed about the performance of the engine. Carefully I studied the 2,81 liter engine and started an experimental system with direct fuel injection. The performance increased from 77 horse power to 195 horse power , with a maximum of 7000 r.p.m !! The transmission was replaced by a five speed gearbox. The car was recognisable for it´s different “Robergel” wheels. Tested on the road , the “Traction Grand Vitesse” achieved a maximum speed of
200 km/h. There were only five cars produced of this type.
