THE YEARS 1989 - 1992: THE INTERMEDIATE PERIOD IN HOLLAND

After my adventures in France I started to work at my father´s nursery. He promised to send me to Canada to learn more about the nursery trade. This plan was cancelled before I could go and I was very disappointed about this. One thing I knew , my future would not be in Holland.

In the meanwhile I was working at organising parties and offering a small package for wedding couples. I took care of the photography , the music and the classic car for their wedding day . I also prepared the flower decoration for that day. One wedding I will never forget. It was a beautiful sunny day in early spring March. I drove with the newly married couple into the public park of Gouda. It was the perfect spot for taking pictures…..How wrong could I be !! Surprisingly the car got stuck in the mud. Whatever I did I couldn´t move the car anymore. I had to lift the couple out of La Reina Negra. My trousers were covered in mud but at least the couple got out of it without any mud-spots on them…

One day I received a phone call from my uncle Dirk. He had found the original car papers from 1971. That was great news ! The license plate JT-14-YV was cancelled and was replaced by 10-46-RX.

In the year 1991 , I started to study economics at High College (HEAO) in Utrecht. In the daytime I worked and in the evening I went to this college. La Reina Negra was standing in the garage in Reeuwijk. I was getting bored with the classic car. My uncle said : Why don´t you sell the car and buy yourself a fast TVR or TR ? “That´s more a car for you , Cors” One thing was clear . I was becoming fed up with the traffic jams and the rain but I still did not want to sell the car…
